Après un petit voyage en TGV Lyria, fort agréable au passage au niveau paysage, me voilà arrivée à Zürich avec un temps plutôt beau pour un mois de septembre.
After a short trip by TGV Lyria, which was very pleasant for the landscape, I arrived in Zürich with a rather nice weather for a month of September.
Je file directement à mon rendez-vous en prenant un tramway où Noémie m’attend. Heureusement une jeune fille m’a bien indiqué le tram à prendre, toute novice dans cette grande ville j’étais un peu perdue.
I went directly to my appointment by taking a streetcar where Noémie was waiting for me. Fortunately a young girl indicated me the streetcar to take, all novice in this big city I was a little lost.

Je suis super bien accueillie par Augustin en attendant le grand rendez-vous !
Petit café offert et voilà qu’arrive mon tour… un peu stressée car c’est ma première fois, Mr Keller et Noémie m’attendent dans un petit bureau avec mes bouteilles sélectionnées devant eux et du coup aussi devant ma future place, rendez-vous prévu à 10h45 :

Small coffee offered and here comes my turn…A little bit stressed because it’s my first time, Mr Keller and Noémie are waiting for me in a small office with my selected bottles in front of them and also in front of my future place, appointment planned at 10:45 am:

Tout d’abord je leur ai fait changer le sens de dégustation, parce que pour la petite histoire j’ai dégusté les vins avec un ami le week-end avant (Merci Christian au passage !), pour bien m’imprégner des arômes et des commentaires à donner.
First of all I made them change the tasting direction, because for the record I tasted the wines with a friend the weekend before (Thanks Christian by the way!), to get a good feel for the aromas and the comments to give.
Alors un peu chamboulés ils ont bougé les bouteilles dans ce sens.
Then a little upset they moved the bottles in this direction.

La dégustation commence doucement, je me présente, je présente les vignerons et on commence à goûter, première bouteille petit problème, elle est légèrement perlante (dans le jargon de dégustateur c’est que le vin pétille), cela s’apparente presque à un défaut, même si le vin est bon aromatiquement. Je me dis « mince ça commence mal… », on arrive au vin du Château d’Hugues, Mr Keller me confirme que c’est vraiment un vin typique des Côtes du Rhône, mais en revanche un peu riche pour lui. Enfin vient le tour de la Cuvée Sous la Robe, et là… un instant magique… il ferme les yeux, apprécie le vin, et en ouvrant ses yeux il les lève au ciel et me regarde en me disant « Mais quel vin de qualité ! », j’argumente dans son sens en lui disant que même s’il paraît boisé au nez, en bouche il est d’une agréable rondeur, fruité et soyeux, de plus avec une belle longueur, il a l’air conquis !
The tasting begins slowly, I introduce myself, I introduce the wine growers and we start to taste, first bottle little problem, it is slightly pearly (in the jargon of taster it is that the wine sparkles), it is almost like a defect, even if the wine is good aromatically. I say to myself “damn, it starts badly…”, we arrive at the wine of the Château d’Hugues, Mr Keller confirms me that it is really a typical wine of the Côtes du Rhône, but on the other hand a little rich for him. Finally comes the turn of the Cuvée Sous la Robe, and there… a magic moment… he closes his eyes, appreciates the wine, and when he opens his eyes he raises them to the sky and looks at me saying “But what a quality wine!”, I argue in his direction by telling him that even if it seems woody in the nose, in the mouth it is pleasantly round, fruity and silky, moreover with a nice length, he looks conquered!
Il me demande un peu plus d’informations sur la vigneronne et il est étonné d’apprendre que les vins ne sont pas du tout présents à l’étranger, et il me le demande d’ailleurs plusieurs fois « Elle n’est pas du tout exportée ! », je lui confirme plusieurs fois que non et j’enfonce le clou en lui disant « Vous cherchiez un vin rare, eh bien vous l’avez devant vous ! »
He asks me for more information about the winemaker and he is surprised to learn that the wines are not at all present abroad, and he asks me several times “It is not exported at all!”, I confirm to him several times that no and I push the nail in by saying to him “You were looking for a rare wine, well you have it before you!”
La dégustation se termine, je sors de la salle et rejoins Augustin, qui me questionne bien évidemment sur le déroulé, bien content pour moi de l’impression de Mr Keller.
The tasting ends, I leave the room and join Augustin, who of course questions me about the process, very happy for me with the impression of Mr. Keller.
J’étais accompagné ce jour-là par une jeune fille travaillant dans un domaine à Beaumes-de-Venise, elle présentait également ses vins. Elle passa donc après moi. Une fois qu’elle fut sortie, la délégation arriva. J’ai donc fait connaissance avec Florent Belleteste, Directeur Pays, Mr Sterbik, Consul général de France à Zurich et au Liechtenstein. Je fus assez honorée de rencontrer ces personnes, qui d’ailleurs ont été très accueillantes, et nous ont remercié de notre présence.
I was accompanied that day by a young girl working in a domain in Beaumes-de-Venise, she was also presenting her wines. So she came after me. Once she was out, the delegation arrived. I met Florent Belleteste, Country Director, Mr Sterbik, Consul General of France in Zurich and Liechtenstein. I was quite honored to meet these people, who were very welcoming and thanked us for our presence.

Et j’ai été agréablement surprise de déjeuner à côté du Consul, qui est gentil, abordable et bon vivant ! Nous avons pu discuter de tout en étant à l’aise pour ma part…
And I was pleasantly surprised to have lunch next to the Consul, who is kind, approachable, and a bon vivant! We were able to talk about everything while being at ease for my part…
En finissant le déjeuner et en partant du restaurant, Mr Keller s’est approché de moi et m’a chuchoté “Le vin était très bon, de très bonne qualité, je vous tiens informée au plus vite de ma décision, parce qu’il n’en faudra qu’un !”
As we finished lunch and left the restaurant, Mr. Keller approached me and whispered, “The wine was very good, very good quality, I’ll let you know as soon as possible about my decision, because it’s only going to take one!”
J’étais plutôt contente de cette nouvelle !

Un très beau magasin, très chic, avec des bons produits mais avec les prix Suisses….

Nous voila donc arrivées Noémie et moi chez le caviste qui nous a présenté ses rayons, ses vins, sa façon de travailler, concept très bien fait avec restaurant attenant pour tout faire en même temps, se prendre une bonne bouteille et manger quelque chose.
So here we are, Noémie and I, at the wine merchant’s who presented us his shelves, his wines, his way of working, a very well done concept with an adjoining restaurant to do everything at the same time, have a good bottle and something to eat.
Une fois cette entrevue terminée, j’avais hâte d’aller à mon hôtel pour récupérer et prendre un plateau repas ! Ce qui m’a donné l’occasion de prendre en photo ce que je voyais de ma fenêtre
Once that interview was over, I couldn’t wait to get to my hotel to recuperate and grab a lunch tray! This gave me the opportunity to take pictures of what I saw from my window

Et comme promis Mr Keller me fit un retour le 27 septembre en m’annonçant la bonne nouvelle, Il a sélectionné la Cuvée Sous La Robe 2017 !!
And as promised Mr. Keller returned to me on September 27 with the good news, He has selected the Cuvée Sous La Robe 2017!!!
Une belle collaboration qui s’annonce selon lui, et je suis bien d’accord ! On se reparle au mois de mars pour la sélection de vins rares avant l’été.
